A plaque memorializing the donation reads: In honor of Dr. Patricia Scharer’s love of children and their literature. Books become our language. Books become our home. Books become our lives. If so, consider Paying It Forward for a child still in the program or to be born into the program in future years. If you are interested in ensuring the program is everlasting, a contribution of $130 will cover the cost of a child getting 60 books for five years. A contribution of $26 will cover the cost of a child getting 12 books for one full year.
