Click here to place your online reserves Director's Note Gary Branson, Executive Director Growing our Outreach - to meet the need. During COVID we had to put our home and senior center Outreach deliveries on hold. Within the past year we've focused on returning and building the service to patrons who are homebound and cannot visit the Library on a regular basis. We currently have over 50 patrons taking advantage of the service. If you look at the two young ladies below, you can tell their connection with the Library makes a difference in their daily lives. Besides the social connection from the outside, the service provides the "lifelong learning" component we love, and also offers a sense of healthy independence in a stage-in-life that sometimes may feel limiting. If you know of someone who qualifies for this once-a-month delivery, have them call the library at (740) 387-0992 to request Outreach Services Home Delivery. At registration the types of materials they'd like to borrow, what they like to read and their favorite authors will be reviewed. Library staff will select items to be delivered on the next delivery date. There are no fees accrued for items in this service and materials available for delivery are books, large print books, magazines, audiobooks on CD, and DVDs. We want to take a moment to recognize a community partner who shares our passion for this service. For the past couple of years Marion Area Council on Aging has granted funds to supplement the Large Print and Audio book collections specifically with this social connection in mind. We thank them for their continued support. MarionLibrary.org/OutreachServices
