Talking Books

What is Talking Books?

Eligible Ohio residents who are unable to read print books can receive free recorded books, magazines, and playback equipment delivered to their homes free of charge.  This service is provided through the State Library of Ohio and the Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled.  More details are available from the State Library of Ohio.

Who is eligible for Talking Books service?

If you are unable to read a standard print book, or are not able to hold or turn the pages of books, you probably qualify to receive this service.  Those with reading disabilities such as dyslexia may also qualify.

How do I apply for Talking Books service?

Print and fill out the application. If you require help filling out an application, please call us (740-387-0992) to speak to the Talking Books Coordinator at Marion Public Library.
