The BookMarks of the Marion Public Library presents:

Speaking Volumes
A fundraising event featuring Pulitzer Prize winning author Richard Russo

October 27th, 2017   |   7:00 pm @ Marion Public Library
Tickets on sale October 1, 2017

Back for its second year, we are excited to announce this year's fundraising event!  The highlight of the evening is an author talk with Richard Russo, beloved novelist and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his novel Empire Falls.  The author will be available for a book signing afterwards, with the opportunity to purchase copies of his books before or during the event.  Desserts, beverages, cash bar and musical entertainment by The String Connection will also be provided, and all proceeds go to support the operations of the Marion Public Library.

The general admission ticket is $40, including the entertainment listed above.  There is also an exclusive social hour event with the author before the main event, with a limited number of tickets available for $75/person or $125/2 people.

Copies of select titles by Mr. Russo will be available for pre-purchase.  Pre-purchase of books ensures an earlier line number for the book signing.

Tickets will be on sale at the library's front desk (cash, check, or credit), the BookMarket (cash, check, or credit) and on the BookMarks' event website.

Richard Russo is the author of eight novels, two collections of short stories, and Elsewhere, a memoir.  In 2002, he received the Pulitzer Prize for Empire Falls, which was also adapted into an HBO mini-series starring Paul Newman, Ed Harris, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Helen Hunt.  Russo earned a bachelor's degree, a master's in fine arts, and Ph.D. from the University of Arizona.  He has two daughters and lives with his wife in Camden, Maine.
