Explore the world through the power of reading!
Marion Public Library will be opening to the public on June 22.
Visit the Library through the month of July for Summer Reading Club. You'll receive your reading record to encourage you to read, dream, imagine, and explore your way through the challenges to earn a free book to add to your home library.
This year's Summer Reading Club will get a later start than usual - July 1 - but we are still committed to encouraging kids to keep reading while school's out. Reading to beat the "Summer Slide" has never been more important!
Imagine Your Story Activity Playing cards: (print off or pick up at the Library on your next visit.)
Throughout the month of July, we'll be posting videos of crafts, storytimes, and other activities on our social media and YouTube so you can keep learning AND having fun at home.
SEARCH AND FIND game throughout the Community: (Watch this video to learn more)
With our Summer Reading Club looking so different this year, we did not do as much soliciting for prizes. This year we are giving back to our PAST community sponsors. We have a Search and Find game. Kids are asked to search for the magical creature found at local establishments and share where they found them by taking a photo and using the hashtag displayed on the place card when found. Click the checklist art for a full list of places.
Teen Creative Writing - Virtual Edition
Teens: Imagine Your Story and Write It Down!
Teens can participate in the creative writing program by picking up journals at the children's desk during Summer Reading Club. There will be 8 writing prompts that will be posted online as well as on the walls behind the children's desk throughout the month of July. If teens enjoy writing and would like to participate, please pick up a journal and get writing. Check our facebook page Monday and Thursday for thought-provoking writing prompts.
